Sometimes we take for granted our easy access to great food when working in the industry.
Each night is like a battle. You round up your troops and prepare for what is about to occur. You train them, and give inspiring speeches to motivate. You are like their King, their leader, and you a preparing for the field of battle.
Everything is set up, then you check and double check. You have a line up to make sure everyone is ready. They look to you to quickly resolve any issues or problems. It is truly a unique dynamic and you need to make sure you give them the tools needed for success. You also need to be their support system.
When it ends, and you begin to pick up the pieces and prepair for the following day, there is a sence of accomplishment and pride in your team. You tell them what went right, and what went wrong. You reward those deserving. The main goal is to win each battle of a never ending war. It’s not always pretty, in fact it’s often ugly. You hold the stress of many on your shoulders, your staff, your managment, your customers. You get yelled at for anything and everything, even if it had nothing to do with you. Your body gets beat up, your muscles aching. You back covered in sweat. You work every weekend, night, holiday, etc.
When all is said and done, what do you have to shoe for it…..a full belly.
